CTOnews.com May 11 news, Tesla pushed FSD Beta V11.4.1 version update for North American users, this V11.4.1 version has made significant architectural improvements. According to Musk, this version could theoretically be released as FSD V12.0, but the true V12 version number needs to be reserved for a fully end-to-end AI version.

Improve cornering control and overall smoothness by improving the geometry, curvature, location, type, and topology of lanes, alignment, road edges, and confined spaces. Through improvements such as expanding and cleaning the training dataset and updating lane guidance modules, lane perception in urban streets improved by 36%, intersection scenes improved by 44%, merge scenes improved by 27%, and turn scenes improved by 16%.

Lane guidance inputs were added to the occupancy network to improve detection of long-distance road features, reducing the median false alarm rate by 16%.

Strengthen its ability to actively judge pedestrian roads/zebra crossings, and only pass them when they can safely and quickly pass, thus improving the driving efficiency and safety of vehicles.

The motorcycle recognition rate has been improved by 8%, and the accuracy of vehicle detection has been increased to reduce false positives. In addition, the new model also adds robustness to visual frame rate variations.

Thanks to the new framework, it can reduce by 43% the interference caused by other vehicles cutting into the lane of autonomous vehicles. The framework can achieve this by probabilistically predicting objects that are likely to cut into lanes and actively taking measures such as deviation and/or speed adjustment to optimize the positional relationship of autonomous vehicles.

Improved cut-in control, reducing lane speed error of adjacent vehicles by 40-50%.

Improved surveillance by using additional features of lane change trajectories resulted in a 20 percent improvement in recognition of partial lane encroachment, a 40 percent improvement in recognition of high speed cuts, and a 26 percent improvement in recognition of cut-outs.

68,000 videos were added to the training dataset, and improved auto-labeling of real data was used to further reduce highway misdiagnosis of low speed and improve accurate estimation of speed away from objects.

By adjusting the amplitude of lateral acceleration control, the lane deviation of large vehicles is smoother to achieve a more stable driving effect.

Improved lateral control, further improving the vehicle's ability to control the oncoming high-curvature junction, thus making it more inclined to stay away from the junction.

Musk has previously mentioned that FSD Beta v11.4 performed very well in tests, achieving "zero takeovers"(zero safety-critical interventions) after a few days at random addresses in Austin.

Tesla FSD is now available in North America, with AP users paying $199 a month for subscriptions (CTOnews.com notes: currently about 1375 yuan) and EAP upgrades for $99.

Tesla will continue to roll out new software updates for the FSD test program and expand the number of test owners. More than 400,000 Tesla owners in North America now have beta access to FSD since the wider beta launch last year, and it's unclear when FSD Beta v11.4 will be widely available to the public.
