The new Google Home app has been completely redesigned, introducing new favorites tabs, improving the camera interface, providing richer controls for existing devices, and adding support for dozens of devices.

More importantly, the new version of the Google Home application adds support for Matter devices. CTOnews.com Note: Google has been a major player in developing the standard, but since the launch of Matter last year, Google has been slower than other companies in adding support.

The current new version of Google Home only supports indoor Nest Cam and original Nest Cam outdoor models, while Nest IQ Cams, Nest Hello doorbell and Nest Hub Max models will not be supported until July.
