CTOnews.com May 10 news, online game platform Roblox today released the first quarter of 2023 results. Roblox reported first-quarter revenue of $655.3 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 4.535 billion yuan), up 22% from 537.1 million yuan a year earlier. The net loss attributable to common shareholders was $268.3 million (currently about 1.857 billion yuan), compared with a net loss of $160.2 million in the same period last year.

According to the financial report, the average number of daily active users (DAU) of Roblox in the first quarter was 66.1 million, up 22% from the same period last year; the number of user participation hours was 14.5 billion hours, up 23% from the same period last year; the average daily active user bookings (ABPDAU) was 11.70 US dollars, unchanged from the same period last year, and 2% year-on-year if the exchange rate effect was excluded. Bookings (bookings resulting from the purchase of the virtual currency "Robux" in Roblox games) were $773.8 million (currently about 5.355 billion yuan), up 23% from a year earlier. If the exchange rate effect is excluded, it will increase by 25% compared with the same period last year.

First-quarter results: revenue was $655.3 million, up 22% from 537.1 million yuan in the same period last year. If the exchange rate effect is excluded, it will increase by 24% compared with the same period last year.

Total costs and expenses were $945.1 million, compared with $688.7 million in the same period last year.

Revenue costs were $151.8 million, compared with $135.6 million a year earlier.

Spending on R & D was $275.5 million, compared with $177.8 million in the same period last year.

General and administrative expenses were $97.574 million, compared with $57.772 million in the same period last year.

Sales and marketing expenses were $26.755 million, compared with $29.102 million in the same period last year.

The operating loss was $289.8 million, compared with an operating loss of $151.6 million in the same period last year.

The net loss attributable to common shareholders was $268.3 million, compared with a net loss of $160.2 million in the same period last year.
