CTOnews.com May 10 news, the KDE project team today released an update to the Plasma 5.27.5 maintenance version, five weeks after the last version.

This update mainly improves the accuracy of the estimated battery life, improves the Plasma disk and device widgets, updates the "highlight changed settings" function, and so on.

A brand new Flatpak Permissions page has been introduced in the setup application, which will not generate a corrupted overlay configuration by fixing a series of major errors; custom environment variables have been improved and enabled by default; and the "read and write" option of "all user files" has been fixed.

KDE Plasma 5.27.5 also improves the window preview of the Plasma Task Manager to correctly display the text of a window that does not display its application name in the title bar or has been customized by the user.

The emoji selector window shortens the opening time when launched with Meta+ keyboard shortcuts and improves the stability of scrolling on task manager and pager widgets.

For touchscreen users such as Plasma Mobile, KDE Plasma version 5.27.5 now allows you to open the right-click menu of the system tray icon by holding down your finger on the touchscreen.

KDE Plasma 5.27.5 not only improves the user interface, but also fixes many errors in components such as Plasma Discover package manager, Plasma Wayland sessions, and so on.
