CTOnews.com May 10 news, anti-malware evaluation company AV-TEST released the latest report earlier this month, through the protection ability (Protection), performance (Performance) and usability (Usability) three indicators to measure the comprehensive ability of each soft kill.

According to the test results, Microsoft Defender scored a full score of 6 points in terms of protection ability and usability, but only scored 5 points in terms of performance, which is insufficient compared with Avast, Avira and other soft kills.

The assessment of performance is as follows:

Avast, Avira, Bitdefender, G DATA, K7 Computing, Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, PC Matic, Protected.net and Trend Micro all scored six points.

In actual measurements, software packages from AhnLab, AVG, ESET, F-Secure, McAfee, Microworld, and Norton produced slight but measurable system loads. The overall performance is good, deduct 0.5 points, the above product score is 5.5 points.

The report points out that Microsoft Defender's system load is higher than other competitive products, so a score of 1 is deducted, resulting in a final score of 5.
