Inflation began to affect the US smartphone market in the second half of 2022, especially at the lower end of the market, where consumers have less disposable income and are more sensitive to price changes. Persistent inflation and an uncertain economic outlook have led consumers to delay the purchase of new equipment, leading to lower upgrading rates and lower equipment sales, especially in the prepaid area.
