CTOnews.com, May 9 (Xinhua) according to the latest research released by the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH), the annual health cost of oil and gas in the United States is $77 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 532.84 billion yuan), which is three times the cost of methane emissions on climate.

The researchers found that pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NO2), fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and ozone (O3) caused 7500 excess deaths in the United States in 2016, an increase of 410,000 asthma attacks and 2200 new cases of asthma in children, as well as respiratory and cardiovascular hospitalization and poor pregnancy.

According to the report, health effects can be effectively reduced by curbing nitrogen oxides.
