Revenue in April fell 34.6 per cent from March to NT $62.126 billion, down 9.11 per cent from a year earlier and a low for the same period in recent years.

Weichuang declined to comment on the report that "will withdraw from India in 2024," according to Taiwan's Regional Economic Daily.

In early May, The Hindu Business Line quoted sources as saying that Willon, an Apple supplier that has been operating in India for more than 15 years, plans to withdraw completely from the Indian market and proposed to the Indian National Company Law Court and the Company Registry to dissolve its operations in India within one year.

It is worth mentioning that in September last year, it was reported that India's leading company, Tata Group, was in talks with Willon Capital, and in November, it was reported that Tata wanted to buy Willon's only manufacturing plant in India for up to 50 billion rupees (CTOnews.com Note: current about 4.195 billion yuan).

In January, it emerged that Tata was about to take over a large iPhone plant in southern India, a deal that would make it India's first local iPhone manufacturer. Business Line revealed last month that Willon would complete the sale of its iPhone manufacturing plant in India to Tata Group by the end of April.

In fact, Weitron used to be one of Apple's biggest suppliers in India, where its plant in the southern Indian state of Karnataka has been assembling iPhone in India since 2017. Currently, Tata Electronics, a division of the Tata Group, is already supplying parts to Apple.

Weitong Capital is one of the assemblers of Apple's iPhone SE and iPhone 6s smartphones. Later, Lixun Precision announced the acquisition of part of Wittron's iPhone business for $472 million, making it Apple's first contract manufacturer in mainland China.

Going back to the financial report, Weituang shipped 1.4 million pens in April, down 12.5% from the previous month and 12.5% from the same period last year. Weitron's desktop and display products showed a double-digit decline in April, with desktop shipments of 700000 units, a decrease of 12.5% month-on-month and year-on-year balance; and monitor shipments of 800000 units, a decrease of 20% from the previous month and 41.17% from the same period last year.

Revenue in April before Wei Chuang was NT $247.126 billion, down 7.1 per cent from a year earlier. Looking forward to the second quarter, Wistron believes that due to the regulation of inventory, the momentum of its product lines has begun to increase, which is expected to boost revenue. It is expected that the results of this quarter will pick up month by month, and the second half of the year is expected to be better than the first half of the year.

It is understood that Willon has 25 operating strongholds around the world and has more than 80,000 employees. It has set up a manufacturing center in Bengaluru, India, and its three plants have been in full production since February 2017.
