According to news in the morning of May 9, Beijing time, Virgin Galactic, a space travel company, said on Monday that it would conduct a test flight with four crew members in May, with the goal of launching its first commercial flight in late June.

Virgin Galactic closed up 13% on Monday on the news. The company said the May test flight would be the final test of space systems and astronaut experience, followed by the opening of commercial services.

Virgin Galactic is owned by billionaire Richard Richard Branson. In May last year, the company said the launch of commercial services would be delayed until the first quarter of 2023 because of a supply chain crisis and labour shortages.

In February, Virgin Galactic completed an upgrade of its core space travel spacecraft, reopening ticket sales for space travel at a price of $450000 per person and an initial deposit of $150000.

"going back to space is what all of us are trying to do," said Mike Moses, president of mission and security for Virgin Galactic. The crew members of this mission include Jamila Gilbert, Christopher Hue, Luke Mays and Beth Moses.
