CTOnews.com May 9 news, after market research agencies IDC, TechInsights, another organization Canalys also announced the first quarter of 2023 global tablet computer situation.

The report shows that global tablet shipments in the first quarter of 2023 were 31.7 million, down 17.7 percent from a year earlier, the lowest since the outbreak in the first quarter of 2020.

The relevant data attached to CTOnews.com are as follows:

Apple shipped 12.4 million units in the quarter, down 17% from a year earlier.

Samsung shipped 6.72 million units in the quarter, down 14.4 per cent from a year earlier.

Amazon shipped 2.5 million units in the quarter, down 29.9% from a year earlier.

Lenovo shipped 1.89 million units in the quarter, down 37 per cent from a year earlier.

Huawei shipped 1.61 million units in the quarter, down 4.3 per cent from a year earlier.

Himani Mukka, research manager at Canalys, said:

Consumer demand for tablets can be expected after the Christmas shopping season, but shipments are still lower than expected.

In addition, as a large number of demand drivers during the pandemic have largely disappeared, there have been more structural adjustments. As a result, tablet vendors and retailers are giving priority to high inventory levels as they realign expectations for milder, more predictable demand.
