Google's update comes as competition in artificial intelligence intensifies, as both the company and Microsoft compete to integrate chat artificial intelligence technology into their products. Google first announced the launch of the PaLM Language model in April 2022. Last month, Google said its medical LLM, called Med-PaLM 2, could answer "expert doctor" medical examination questions with 85 per cent accuracy.

Google also plans to share the progress made in Bard and search, providing so-called "generative experiences", including the use of Bard for coding, math and "logic", as well as extension to Japanese and Korean, according to the documents. Google has been developing a series of more powerful Bard models and officially launched them as an experiment in March.

Google has also internally developed a version of a multimodal model called Multi-Bard, which uses larger data sets to help solve complex mathematical and coding problems, according to another internal document. In addition, Google has tested versions called "Big Bard" and "Giant Bard".

Google also plans to expand its "Workspace AI collaborator" to discuss template generation in worksheets and image generation in slides and Meet products. In March, the company said it would allow a small number of users to access artificial intelligence in Gmail and Google Docs as part of testing, and plans to introduce more generative artificial intelligence into its meetings, worksheets and slide show applications.
