CTOnews.com May 8 news, CTOnews.com learned from China manned Aerospace official account that the conductive ring debris test device in the space technology test field of the space station, grasped by the Chinese Academy of Space Technology, has carried out a conductive ring debris observation experiment in orbit for more than 5 months since it was launched into orbit with the space station Mengtian experimental module together with the space basic test cabinet on October 31, 2022. We have successfully observed the debris generation process and cluster phenomenon of conductive ring in orbit for the first time in China.

The test device of conductive ring debris is developed by Beijing Institute of Control Engineering. this project is the first technical test in China to explore the movement and distribution of charged debris under the combined action of vacuum, microgravity and complex electromagnetic field. The first batch of four samples of the conductive ring wear debris test device are upward, covering three kinds of materials such as gold alloy, silver alloy and copper alloy, as well as two types of disc conductive ring and column conductive ring; the forming method is covered with stacked and sealed. After more than 5 months of initial continuous test, the on-orbit generation process and cluster phenomenon of wear debris have been successfully observed on some cylindrical conductive rings, and great progress has been made in the test. it has laid a good foundation for improving the product design of space conductive rings of all kinds of spacecraft and ensuring the reliable and stable operation of spacecraft in orbit.

In the follow-up, the aerospace technology test field will organize further analysis and research on the observation data in orbit, on this basis, continue to optimize the on-orbit test process, strive to observe more test phenomena, and maximize the results of in-orbit test.
