CTOnews.com, May 8 (Xinhua) Microsoft Windows 11 has been seeking to increase the number of ads built into the system, and Twitter user Albacore's survey of recent Insider versions (the specific version number is not specified) found that the Windows 11 "Settings" home page will soon start displaying Microsoft 365 product ads.

In the screenshot below, a banner appears at the top of the Home tab in Settings asking users who do not subscribe to the platform to "try Microsoft 365".

The section at the bottom of the advertisement displays the current storage status of the user's OneDrive account, followed by a security prompt section for users to protect their account. Another ad version first lists the stored information, and then Microsoft 365 prompts you to log in.

During the survey of the Settings tab for this version of Insider, you also saw tips on the accounts tab that displayed user information about installing discontinued support products, such as Office 2013. This is not the first time Microsoft has integrated ads into its operating system. Ads have appeared on the Windows 11 "start" menu since November 2022. Microsoft is keen to promote more subscriptions through these ads and the Microsoft 365 platform, which is clearly intrusive, such as the full-screen upgrade ads that were presented to users in February.
