Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, May 8, according to the TechInsights WeChat account, the research report shows that the economic slowdown and stagnant demand for products after the COVID-19 epidemic have reduced the tablet market to pre-epidemic levels. Q1 tablet shipments in 2023 were 33.5 million, down 18% from the same period last year. Apple and Samsung take the lead in market share, but are also not immune to the downturn in global demand. As economic activity rebounded after the easing of COVID restrictions, China's small suppliers gained some share. Inventories in the mobile computing market rose in the quarter, curbing shipments of new equipment.

The tablet market fell for the seventh quarter in a row to pre-epidemic levels * all figures are rounded the report shows that although Apple beat the overall market throughout 2022, iPad shipments fell 20 per cent year-on-year in 2023.

Android tablet shipments fell 19% to 16.7 million, close to the market average, bringing its market share to 49.8%. As far as suppliers are concerned, the performance of each manufacturer has been mixed. Samsung led the Android tablet market with above-average Q1 in 2023, while smaller Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Glory, realme and OPPO continued to capture Android market share from the downsized Huawei. Huawei's glory days are over, but it is still stable and above the market average. Amazon's performance is close to the market average, while Lenovo's shipments are down sharply from last year.
