Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com May 6, AMD CEO Su Zifeng said in an interview with Barron Weekly that Moore's Law has not yet died out, but has slowed down and needs to do things in different ways to overcome performance, efficiency and cost challenges.

AMD pioneered 3D packaging and Chiplet design, launching HBM design in 2015, Chiplet design in 2017, and the first chip 3D package using 3D V-Cache design in 2022.

The interview translated by CTOnews.com is as follows:

I can tell you with great certainty that I don't think Moore's Law is dead, but that it has slowed down. We have to do different things to continue to achieve this performance and energy efficiency.

Software and algorithms are also very important. I think we can continue to move forward on the performance path by fully mobilizing all kinds of resources.

The improvement brought about by the increase in transistor cost and density may not improve the overall performance of each generation, but we move forward step by step through constant change.

We have done a lot of work on 3nm today, and we are also working on 2nm. But we will continue to use Chiplet designs and these types of structures to try to circumvent some of the challenges of Moore's Law.
