Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thank you, CTOnews.com netizens. Hello, rabbit clue delivery! CTOnews.com, May 5, CTOnews.com learned from Nankai University News Network that on May 4, the world's first non-human primate intrusive brain-computer interface experiment was successful in Beijing. The experiment realized a brain-computer interface brain-controlled robotic arm in the brain of monkeys, which is of great significance in promoting research in the field of brain science, indicating that China's brain-computer interface technology has entered the leading ranks of the world.
According to reports, the experiment was led by Professor Duan Feng of Nankai University and completed jointly with the Chinese people's Liberation Army General Hospital (301 Hospital) and Shanghai Xinwei Medical Technology Co., Ltd. This experiment is a further achievement on the basis of the previous animal (sheep) experiment of intrusive brain-computer interface, and realizes the technological leap of intrusive EEG signal from passive acquisition to active control. it breaks through the core technologies such as intravascular EEG acquisition and interventional EEG recognition.
Professor Duan Feng's team led the development of the intrusive brain-computer interface, which attaches the interventional EEG sensor to the monkey cerebrovascular wall through interventional surgery, and can collect intracranial EEG signals without craniotomy, compared with the traditional invasive and non-invasive brain-computer interface. Safety and identification stability are taken into account.
The interventional operation of this experiment was performed by Dr. Wu Dongdong, Department of Neurosurgery of the first Medical Center of PLA General Hospital. The intrusive EEG sensor passes through the jugular vein into the sagittal sinus and reaches the motor cortex of the monkey. After the operation, the interventional EEG signals of non-human primates were successfully collected and identified, and the active control of the robot arm was realized.
