CTOnews.com May 5 news, according to the official WeChat release of openEuler, RISC-V SIG recently successfully implemented the adaptation of the Euler operating system on the LicheePi 4A development board. Currently, the latest version of the openEuler RISC-V 23.03 V1 image is available on the LicheePi 4A development board.

An early beta image of openEuler RISC-V for the LicheePi 4A development board has been launched and can be downloaded for trial. According to officials, the test image is based on the latest 23.03 innovative version, using firmware and kernel branches that have been open source by manufacturers; "after RISC-V SIG testing, the basic system, wired network, WiFi and several other parts of peripherals are now available, can support the basic system and XFCE desktop basic functions, the overall operation is smooth."

Image source: Silicon Speed Technology openEuler says there are also some known problems with mirroring. First of all, the GPU support remains to be improved, currently only supports LLVMpipe mode, thanks to the performance of TH1520, the glxgears test on this platform can reach 200 + fps,HDMI output and the system graphical interface is basically smooth; secondly, it only supports booting from eMMC and needs to be burned through fastboot; the first 8x8 configuration can meet the basic needs, but there are still storage limitations. In the future, openEuler RISC-V will improve the relevant basic support, and will provide further support for microSD card startup and some peripherals. The official image 22.03 LTS,23.03 with more multi-function support will be released and updated.

According to the official introduction of Silicon Speed Technology, the LicheePi 4A RISC-V development board is based on Alibaba Pingtou TH1520 chip, with 4-core 2.0GHz C910 core, 4TOPS NPU and 50GFLOPS GPU, and supports peripherals including Gigabit Ethernet port (supporting PoE), USB 3.0A port, HDMI 2.0mm audio interface, microSD card reader and 5V DC power input. It also integrates WiFi and Bluetooth adapters, as well as MIPI-DSI and MIPI-CSI connectors for monitors and cameras.
