CTOnews.com, May 5 (Xinhua) Apple CEO Tim Cook (Tim Cook) stressed again today that mass layoffs are a "last resort" and are not considered by the company at this stage.

"I think mass layoffs are a last resort, so this is not what we are talking about right now," Cook said in an interview with CNBC.

Major technology companies such as Google and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, have laid off tens of thousands of workers in recent months because of economic uncertainty after hiring aggressively during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apple has not made large-scale layoffs of full-time employees, but CTOnews.com has previously reported that the company has laid off some employees on its retail team, laid off some contract recruiters, and stopped hiring certain positions.
