CTOnews.com May 4 news, Samsung said in a press release today that the SmartThings Find service has experienced explosive growth, with more than 300 million devices registered and added worldwide.

SmartThings Find is similar to Apple's Find My service, which allows users to locate products such as Samsung Galaxy smartphones, tablets, watches, headphones, Galaxy SmartTag or SmartTag+.

Samsung says it searches and locates through devices that work together, and all sensitive data is encrypted and stored on Samsung Knox. The location data of the device is shared with others only with the user's permission, and the ID of each device is changed every 15 minutes.

There is also an option to search for nearby unknown tags and mark them as safe or unsafe, while Galaxy users get an additional anti-tracking security layer that notifies the user if an unknown SmartTag is tracking them.
