CTOnews.com May 4, the photo app in Microsoft Windows 11 allows users to view, organize, and share photos from your PC, OneDrive, and iCloud. Microsoft today announced the launch of a photo app update for members of the Canary and Dev Channel Preview experience, which includes a number of new features, improvements and feedback-based fixes, including the new slide experience, timeline scroll bar, Spot Fix, and more. To get these new features and fixes, users should update the photo application to version 2023.11050.2013.0 or later.

New slide experience users can now review memories and view photos in slide format, including transitions, animations and 25 original music soundtracks to choose from. Click any photo to start the slide show or select multiple photos to watch together.

Timeline scroll bar Microsoft reintroduces the timeline scroll bar into all photos, OneDrive, and iCloud Photo Gallery views, which group photos by year and month. Using the scroll bar, users can now easily jump to any point in time and find the photos they want.

Spot Fix uses the Spot Fix feature to remove flaws or unwanted areas from the photo.

Automatic enhancements are now available without installing the 93 MB add-on.

When importing photos from an external device, users can now drag and drop to select the desired photos and use a quick toggle to confirm the selected files.

Hidden iCloud photos will no longer be displayed in the gallery.

Fixed audio default mute for video files, the application now plays audio by default and retains user settings in the video.

Copy and paste photos from the photo app into Outlook and Teams now insert images inline by default instead of adding attachments.

Multi-select photos: hold down the SHIFT key while selecting photos in the gallery to now select multiple consecutive photos; press and hold the CTRL key to select multiple non-consecutive photos.
