Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com May 3 news, GPT-4 is a language model released by OpenAI for chat robot ChatGPT, which can generate various types of text, such as poems, stories, codes, etc., according to user input. However, to use GPT-4, users must pay a monthly fee of $20 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB138).

However, one developer found a way to use GPT-4 for free. He created a project called GPT4free, which he shared with netizens through Github. This project can make use of the API of some paid websites, such as Quora and You.com, to invoke GPT-4 's services indirectly. Users can get answers from paid websites simply by typing questions on GPT4free's website.

This practice caused resentment from OpenAI, which sent a letter to the developer asking him to delete the Github project within five days, otherwise legal action would be taken. OpenAI believes that developers infringe on their copyright and commercial interests.

However, the developer does not think it is his fault. He says he doesn't connect directly to GPT-4 's API, just using sites that have already paid for it. He believes that OpenAI should find those websites to solve the problem, not him. He also said that he just provided some scripts, how other people use it is their business, he does not take any responsibility.

The developer also said that even if he deleted the Github project, it would not make sense because his code has been widely distributed on the Internet. He plans to move his chatbot to another domain name and rename it "gf4". As of CTOnews.com 's release, GPT4free's Github project still exists.
