CTOnews.com May 3, OBS Studio 29.1 is officially released today, with support for streaming AV1 / HEVC for YouTube over RTMP, support for AJA capture card surround sound, and new FLAC, ALAC and PCM (including 32-bit float) lossless audio recording options.

A newly released article from Nvidia shows the AV1 4K livestream performance of RTX 4080 graphics cards in OBS Studio 29.1, as well as the comparison with AMD RX 7900 XT and Intel Ruixuan A770.

As shown in the figure above, all three graphics cards use the latest version of OBS Studio to encode video at a speed of 12 Mbps, and the quality of Nvidia NVENC coding is higher than that of the two competing products.

CTOnews.com has reported that Nvidia says it uses the new dual encoder of the GeForce RTX 40 series to reduce the time it takes to export videos by nearly half. Dual encoders can work together and are automatically assigned to achieve two-way output. They can also record content up to 8K60 through GeForce Experience and OBS Studio.
