CTOnews.com May 3 news, according to foreign technology media SamNews24 reports, industry experts believe that Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Micron three companies are vigorously promoting the popularity of DDR5 memory, in order to curb the downward trend of the semiconductor market.

DDR5 DRAM is the latest DRAM specification issued by the Joint Electronic equipment Engineering Committee (JEDEC), and its performance is twice as high as that of DDR4 DRAM.

DDR4 DRAM currently accounts for the majority of the memory market. Industry insiders believe that by increasing the output of DDR5 memory and popularizing DDR5 memory, the replacement demand of DDR5 DRAM can be stimulated.

CTOnews.com attached data previously released by OMDIA, a market research company, that DDR5 DRAM will account for 12 per cent of the DRAM market this year, up from 3 per cent in 2022. It is expected to grow to 27% by 2024, surpassing DDR4 (23%).
