CTOnews.com, May 3 (Xinhua) according to a report by foreign technology media MacReports, the number of drivers testing self-driving cars for Apple has recently been cut by 56, and the total number of drivers currently on the job is 145.

The report points out that Apple has been expanding the number of self-driving drivers since the summer of 2021, from less than 80 to more than 200 at the beginning of 2023.

According to documents submitted by Apple to DMV, California, the number fell by more than 25 per cent from 201 at the beginning of this year to 145.

As for the number of cars registered for AV testing, it fell from 67 last time to 66 on April 28. Apple has not yet applied to DMV for a driverless AV test, as Waymo,Cruise and Nuro did.
