CTOnews.com May 3, Apple today released new 5E135 firmware for AirPods 2, AirPods 3, first-generation AirPods Pro, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Max wireless headphones, which is higher than the 5E133 firmware released in April this year. The first generation of AirPods firmware is 6.8.8.

Apple will not immediately provide release notes on what is included in the AirPods update firmware, but the company does maintain a supporting document that contains release information, mainly Bug fixes and other improvements.

In terms of upgrade, the user can install the AirPods wirelessly when connecting to the iOS device. Putting the AirPods in the charging box, connecting it to the power supply, and then pairing the AirPods with the iPhone or iPad should force an update after a short period of time.
