CTOnews.com May 2 news, Apple announced on April 17 that the Apple Card savings account is officially available with an annual interest rate of 4.15%, which is jokingly called the Apple version of "Yu'ebao" by Chinese netizens.

Apple Card savings accounts attracted nearly $1 billion in deposits just four days before opening, according to a new report released by Forbes today. (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 6.93 billion yuan).

The report quoted two anonymous sources as saying that Apple Card savings accounts attracted $400m in deposits on the day they were launched and then surged to nearly $1 billion over the next three days.

By the end of the first week, Apple had opened more than 240000 Apple Card savings accounts with an average account balance of more than $4000, according to sources. Of course, the Apple Card savings account balance cannot exceed the $250000 FDIC insurance limit.

The Apple Card savings account is run by Goldman Sachs, which is one of Apple's partners on Apple Card. The savings account offers an annualized interest rate of 4.15%, significantly higher than the industry average (Citibank 3.85% focus Discover 3.75%). American Express 3.75%, Capital one 3.50%, Barclays 4%).

Both Apple and Goldman Sachs declined to comment when asked about the figures, according to Forbes. However, foreign media believe that Goldman Sachs may mention the relevant content in the earnings report later, but Apple is unlikely to disclose any details.
