CTOnews.com May 1, Reuters reported that Brazilian police had earlier asked Telegram to provide data on two groups inciting school violence to help investigate the case, but Telegram refused the request. Telegram was banned nationwide last week.

A few days ago, Brazilian judge Flávio Lucas revised Telegram's sentence to a fine of US $200,000 per day for overdue data (CTOnews.com Note: Currently about RMB 1.386 million).

According to the New York Times, a youth was accused of being involved in the shooting of two local schools in Brazil last November, killing 3 people and injuring 13 others. The judiciary said it found violent clips and bomb-making instructions in two Telegram groups. Telegram initially did not provide data in response to the court's request, stating that two groups had been deleted and that the content could not be restored.
