CTOnews.com May 1, Microsoft has confirmed that it has begun testing "Windows configuration updates" in Windows 11. These updates bring unsafe updates, fixes, and improvements to user equipment through a variety of maintenance technologies, such as adding search bar support in the task manager or adding an end task button to the taskbar.

CTOnews.com query found that Microsoft had been using Controlled Feature Rollouts (CFR) technology to gradually enable the functions of Windows 11. Each introduction of a new feature will go through multiple rounds of verification before the new device will be introduced gradually and enabled by default in subsequent monthly security updates.

Microsoft has previously confirmed that it will provide users with new feature improvements and Windows experiences through monthly updates on a regular basis. This monthly update process involves CFR technology (a method similar to A / B testing) in which some users receive new features while others do not.

If you don't want to queue up, you can now try a new feature in Win11 22H2 or later: "get the latest updates as soon as they are available." This option ensures that the A / B test is skipped and new functionality is obtained as soon as possible. Of course, the new features are only officially enabled, and hidden functions enabled through vivetool are not included.

If you want to enable this feature, go to "start" > "Settings" > "Windows updates" and then find "get the latest updates once available". When you are done, you will notice the configuration update on the history page of Windows Update. This ensures that your device will be given update priority while still receiving regular security updates.

You can view the history of installed optional updates from start > Settings > Windows updates > Update History. On this page, you will notice the mention of new configuration updates.
