In order to welcome the arrival of Tianzhou-6, the Shenzhou-15 crew had also been sorting out the remaining goods on Tianzhou-5 in the past few days. At present, Tianzhou-5 is in the backward docking port of the space station assembly. It is scheduled to separate from the space station in the near future to make way for the upcoming Tianzhou-6 docking port. The Tianzhou-6 cargo spacecraft and the Long March-7 rocket have been tested at the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province. Preparations for the launch site have been carried out in an orderly manner. It is planned to be launched in mid-May this year. This will be the first flight mission of China's space station after it enters the application and development stage.

In addition, crews for two manned flights have been selected and mission training is ongoing.

Next, China's manned space program will carry out two "Shenzhou" manned spacecraft launches and one to two "Tianzhou" cargo spacecraft launches every year. The year 2023 is the first year when China's space station has entered the application and development stage. It is planned to launch two manned spacecraft, Shenzhou 16 and Shenzhou 17, and one cargo spacecraft, Tianzhou 6.

It is expected that on the afternoon of May 10,2023, the "Long March 7" remote 7 launch vehicle carrying the "Tianzhou 6" cargo spacecraft will be launched from Station 201 of Hainan Wenchang Launch Site. After the spacecraft is launched, it will be docked to the rearward port of the "Tianhe" core module in a rapid rendezvous and docking mode. This launch is the first launch of China's manned space project in 2023. It will send "grain and grass" and "baggage" for the "God 16" mission first, and undertake the important task of starting the new stage of China's manned space project.

Starting from "Tianzhou 6,""Tianzhou" series spacecraft entered a new batch production stage, and six spacecraft from "Tianzhou 6" to "Tianzhou 11" were arranged for development and production. At this stage, the "Tianzhou" spacecraft has been upgraded systematically, the cargo compartment has been greatly improved, the cargo transportation capacity of the capsule has been greatly enhanced, and the materials provided to the astronauts will be able to last longer. According to CTOnews.com, the Tianzhou-6 spacecraft has increased the volume of the capsule by about 500 kilograms compared with previous batches, increasing the capacity from 6.9 tons to about 7.4 tons. Based on the increase in capacity, the launch density of the space station mission "Tianzhou" cargo spacecraft was adjusted from 2 times/ 1 year to 3 times/ 2 years.

In this trip, the "Tianzhou-6" mission mainly includes the expendable materials such as the astronaut residence materials and extravehicular clothing; the maintenance spare parts and propellants to ensure the safe operation of the platform, various loads and samples of the application mission; and the descending orbital wastes.
