CTOnews.com April 30, Seagate released the "Sustainability data Circle: fiscal year 2022 ESG report", announcing that the goal of using 100% renewable energy worldwide by 2030 has been achieved. Seagate extended the life of 1.16 million mechanical and solid-state drives in fiscal year 2022, according to the report. These hard drives are recycled through refurbishment and redeployment, preventing more than 540 metric tons of e-waste from entering the landfill.

Seagate also launched a new consumer external mechanical hard drive, which officials say is made of 30% consumer recycled material and 100% recyclable packaging.
