Ex02: Mailbox 、 CAS

The front end uses the hardware load device, the back end uses DAG, all Database is mounted on EX01, and the mail protocol is POP3.

The mail clients are LiveMail and outlook 2007

Question:

Close EX01 normally and use the command get-mailboxdatabase on EX02 to see that Database has been mounted to EX02

Use OWA to send and receive email normally, change the email client POP3 and SMTP addresses to ex02 IP, and keep popping up the account password dialog box, which seems to be unable to complete the verification. Click to cancel there is an error prompt: the code is 0X800CCC90, the password of similar account is incorrect

Resolution process:

Stage one,

1. Online query DAG + POP3 cannot be used after switching, there is no similar security, and it has been fruitless for several days.

2. Consult in a certain Exchange group, and the sales contact of a professional company says that you can first look at the situation and then talk about the cost.

3. After the engineer of a professional company connects remotely, the contents of the inspection are as follows:

A.telnet ex01 25 port 110is normal

B.telnet ex02 port 25 is normal, port 110fails (login is automatically disconnected)

c. Check it out and quote 2500.

4. As it is a test environment, there is no cost to deal with this problem, so I am prepared to grope for it again.

Stage 2.

1. Execute netstat-na locally in ex02, and you can see that 110is account opening status.

Telnet localhost 110normal connection

Telnet ex02 110shows a black screen without any display. Normally, there should be information returned by the server, "+ OK The Microsoft Exchange POP3 service is ready".

2. Failed to use Test-PopConnectivity-ClientAccessServer:ex02

Use Test-PopConnectivity-ClientAccessServer:ex02 | fl error to get the completion error message:

`Error: Microsoft.Exchange.Monitoring.ProtocolException: authentication failed. The connection is closing. Unable to read data from the transport connection: the remote host forced an existing connection to be closed. The server responds when establishing a connection: []. -> System.IO.IOException: unable to read data from the transport connection: the remote host forcibly closed an existing connection. -> System.Net.Sockets.SocketE xception: the remote host forcibly closed an existing connection. `

3. Use the Bing search keyword "Microsoft.Exchange.Monitoring.ProtocolException: authentication failed" to find Microsoft KB "https://support.microsoft.com/zh-cn/help/3025138/users-cannot-connect-to-pop3-or-imap4-on-exchange-server-2013-or-excha"

4. According to the instructions of KB, check the status of ex02 components: Get-ServerComponentState-identity ex02, and find that popproxy is not activated.

5. Use the command to activate this component

Set-ServerComponentState-identity ex02-Component Popproxy-State Active-Requester HealthAPI

6. Telnet ex02 110succ

7. Without DAG switching, direct users can send and receive email normally if their POP and SMTP addresses are set to EX02. Turn off EX01 and switch MailBox to EX02 for normal use. Turn on EX01 and close EX02 for normal use by all users.

Summary: this symptom is caused by the inactivation of Popproxy. It is hereby recorded.
