According to the report, Xiaomi Group has 16171 R & D personnel, an increase of 10.8% over last year, R & D investment of 16 billion yuan, and plans to invest more than 100 billion yuan in R & D within five years (2022 - 2026). The number of Xiaomi AIoT devices connected worldwide has reached 589 million, and the number of users with 5 or more devices connected to Xiaomi AloT platform has reached 11.6 million.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that Xiaomi has established an open source and open IoT ecosystem and a full-scene language control ecosystem in rich scenarios of interconnection and open sharing. In December 2022, Xiaomi artificial intelligence voice assistant "Little Love Classmate" reached 115 million monthly users, the number of interactions reached 215.8 billion times accumulatively, and the products supporting control covered 5312 models.

In 2022, Xiaomi Mobile completed 9 major projects and 118 small projects related to experience enhancement, covering three major directions: performance power consumption, stability and signal and communication, and user multimedia. Xiaomi Home has built 2628 door-to-door service points in the mainland of China, an increase of 40.4% compared with 2021. There are nearly 16000 engineers holding Xiaomi professional technical qualification certificates. The number of overseas maintenance sites increased by 24.8% compared with 2021.

Xiaomi will recycle about 4500 tons of electronic waste such as smartphones worldwide in 2022. It plans to recycle 38000 tons of electronic waste within 5 years (2022 - 2026), and invest 5000 tons of recycled materials in product manufacturing. Xiaomi refurbished about 94000 smartphone products, 5600 electric scooter products and 6200 smart TV products, all of which were sold as certified refurbished products.

As at the end of the Reporting Period, there were 1025 suppliers related to hardware manufacturing in Xiaomi's supply chain, ensuring the mass production of more than 2000 smartphones and AIoT products for Xiaomi. Take the mobile phone supply chain as an example. A total of 118 suppliers have set carbon emission reduction targets, including 9 new suppliers joining the Science-Based Carbon Targets initiative (SBTi) and 50 suppliers using renewable energy such as solar, wind and hydropower.
