After we have completed the office 365 hybrid deployment, there are two ways for mailbox users who migrate to exchange online to log in to OWA:

1) continue to log in using the local OWA address, such as mail.contoso.com, but access it in this way. After we have entered the user name and password, a dialog box will pop up to inform the user that the mailbox is on exchange online and need to log in with a new address, as shown below:

2) directly inform all users who have migrated to exchange online and log in to OWA using: partner.outlook.cn (Century Internet) or outlook.office.com (International Edition)

In the above two cases, some changes have taken place in the login mode of mailbox users, which has an impact on users (if there are a large number of users, it will be very stressful for IT administrators)

Is there a better way that users who migrate to exchange online will still use the previous OWA login method after we have configured the office 365 hybrid deployment? the answer is yes, we need to achieve it through the following methods:

Note: this method is applicable to exchange 2013 / 2016 / 2019.

1) Log in to the directory where exchange is installed, as follows: C:\ Program Files\ Microsoft\ Exchange Server\ V15\ FrontEnd\ HttpProxy\ owa\ auth

2) Edit the errorFE.aspx in the directory and add the following:

3) the addition is completed, as shown below:

The above operations need to be repeated on other exchange servers.

After completion, the mailbox users who migrated to exchange online will log in using the local OWA address, and will log in to OWA directly. The redirect window will not pop up to prompt us for a new address.
