Meta said that from January to March this year, AI recommendations increased the amount of time users spend on Instagram by 24%.

"I think much of Meta's AI investment, like Google's parent company Alphabet, has gone into advertiser clients," said James Cordwell, an analyst at Atlantic Equities, the stockbroking firm. "so as consumers, we may not see the fruits of their labor in this area, but it seems that they can use more advanced algorithms to maintain a certain level of targeted advertising."

Zuckerberg also said Meta saw "an opportunity to launch AI agents to billions of people in a useful and meaningful way." I expect that once we have identified this experience, there will be a lot of interest in AI agents for business messaging and customer support. Over time, this will also extend to our work on meta-universe. There, people will be able to more easily create avatars, objects, worlds, and the code that ties them all together. " He said.
