Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, April 28, according to the latest report released by identity authentication professional agency Regula, the number of fraud cases of Deepfake type is rising rapidly. 29% of enterprises have suffered this type of fraud, and 91% of respondents believe that the threat has become increasingly serious.

Ihar Kliashchou, Chief Technology Officer of Regula, explained in the report, and CTOnews.com translated as follows:

It is difficult for ordinary human beings to distinguish the false identities generated by AI without special training.

Neural network may be helpful to detect Deepfakes, but it should cooperate with anti-fraud measures such as facial living detection, optical variable security elements and other anti-fraud measures focusing on physical and dynamic parameters to achieve better monitoring results.

In addition to Deepfakes, the survey shows that 46 per cent of global organizations have experienced synthetic identity fraud in the past year. 92% of banking companies see synthetic fraud as a real threat, and nearly half (49%) have recently encountered such a scam.

Deepfake technology, also known as deep forgery, is a mixture of "deep learning" and "fake", which specifically refers to the application of human image synthesis technology based on artificial intelligence. This technique can overlay an existing image or video on the target image or video. The technology for falsifying facial expressions and presenting them to target videos emerged in 2016, allowing facial expressions in existing 2D videos to be falsified in near real time.
