CTOnews.com, April 28 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- AMD today released the latest announcement of the Ryzen 7000 series burn-out, saying that the root cause of the problem has been identified and the Universal packaged Software Architecture (AGESA) firmware has been released to fix it.

AMD indicated that the new firmware will set the appropriate upper limit for the affected CPU so as not to exceed the specification limit. After the user installs the new firmware, the upper limit of SoC voltage is set to 1.3V, which will not affect memory overclocking through EXPO.

AMD issued a statement to AnandTech, which CTOnews.com translated as follows:

We have identified the root cause of the problem and released an AGESA update to take steps against the power supply on the AM5 motherboard to prevent CPU from running beyond the specification limit.

None of these changes will affect the ability of our Sharon 7000 series processors to use EXPO or XMP suites to overclock memory or use PBO technology to improve performance.

We hope that all ODM manufacturers will update the BIOS for the AM5 motherboard as soon as possible, and users will visit the motherboard manufacturer's website and update their BIOS as soon as possible to avoid burning down.
