CTOnews.com, April 28, Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 22H2 will be the last feature update to the Windows 10 operating system. Windows 10 22H2 was launched in October 2022 and widely deployed on November 18, 2022. All versions of Windows 10 22H2 (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education, Professional Education, Workstation Professional, and Internet of things Enterprise Edition) will be supported on October 14, 2025.

Jason Leznek, principal product manager for Windows services and delivery at Microsoft, said: "the current version of 22H2 will be the last version of Windows 10, and all versions will continue to receive monthly security updates until that date (October 14, 2025). We strongly recommend that you switch to Windows 11 now, as there will not be any other Windows 10 feature updates."

According to Valve's March 2023 survey and StatCounter's Windows market share statistics, more than 73% of Windows computers are still running Windows 10.

Microsoft said in a separate notice on Thursday that long-term support (Long-Term Servicing Channel,LTSC) will continue to receive updates based on their specific life cycle. For example, the Windows 10 LTSC version will end mainstream support in January 2027, with the only exception being the Internet of things Enterprise Edition, which will be supported until January 2032.

CTOnews.com noted that Microsoft has also announced long-term supported versions of Windows in the second half of 2024: Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC and Windows 11 Internet of things Enterprise LTSC. As the first LTSC version of Windows 11, it will have a support cycle of up to 5 years.
