Big changes behind the scenes in this update, some major changes are not immediately visible; many efforts are focused on changing the way we share code on Steam desktop clients, large-screen mode, and Steam Deck. These changes also mean that new features will be implemented and iterated faster. A good example is the update of local network transfer, which is available on both Steam clients and Steam Deck. In the process, we have also made some targeted visual and usability improvements.

In-game interface we have made a major overhaul of the in-game interface. The original intention of this feature is to create a quick way to chat with friends or view game-related questions or content; in this update, we have introduced a new user interface and added more practical tools. so that your customization can be further.

The new toolbar gives you access to any function you need in the game: friend chat, achievement progress, guides, discussions, browsers, and so on. We have selected several default windows, and you can also pick and customize what you want to see in the interface-the settings will be used for all games. You can choose to display the toolbar in an icon view or a list view in the settings.

The game overview allows you to see what has happened since the last time you played the game. For example, it will show what you are achieving, which friends are playing the same game, hot guides, news, and so on.

The new note-taking app allows you to record... Notes related to the game you are playing. This feature has rich text formatting options, and multiple notes can be recorded per game, even in offline mode. The notes will be saved by game and will be synchronized to the other PC where you are logged in. In addition to the Steam interface in the game, you can also see it on the game details page.

We have also added the ability to pin windows from the Steam interface so that they can be displayed on top of the game in the game. The opacity level is adjustable, and only the contents of the window are fixed-not including the title bar and other unrelated user interfaces. This new feature can be used for notes, guides, discussions, and web browsers (yes, you can watch movies while playing games if you really want to).

Notification Steam client notifications now have richer and more useful features. The green button lights up only when there is real new information. The pallet view is limited to new notifications, and there is also a View all page that displays historical notifications.

Screenshot Manager has been completely refurbished and is now responsive, you can choose from large and small thumbnails, you can view recent screenshots without following the game, and you can manage online and local screenshots.
