On April 27, Narayana Murthy, founder of India's Infosys, believes that layoffs in the US technology industry are an opportunity for India.

"I think these things, such as technical layoffs, are part of the business cycle. the curve has its ups and downs. so I'm not too worried." Murthy said in an interview.

India's local IT company fears that the US economic slowdown will lead US companies to cut technology spending and projects in India, but Mr Murthy believes India's IT will benefit instead.

"whenever there is a recession in the United States or developed countries, countries like India have a better opportunity, especially in our industry, where we provide our customers with better performance-to-price ratio. the market may shrink slightly in a recession, but our mission is very clear. we will work harder and then we will gain more market share so that there will not be any unemployment." Murthy explained.

Narayana Murthy is known as one of the founders of India's IT industry. He founded Infosys with six friends with his wife's savings of $250 in 1981. He served as CEO of the company from 1981 to 2002. He is also the father-in-law of the current British Prime Minister Richthunak.

As the second largest IT company in India, Infosys, with a market capitalization of more than $60 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB 415.8 billion), employs more than 346000 people worldwide, throughout the Asia-Pacific region, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

Many companies choose to outsource software development to India to get quality services at a lower cost, Krina Mehta, co-founder of Ford Information Technology in the United States, said in a post on LinkedIn.

"by working with Indian developers, you will get high-quality IT professionals at a relatively reasonable cost compared to Western prices." Mehta wrote.

Mehta also mentioned that India has a large number of highly skilled software developers who cover a wide range of related and core technologies such as Python programming to newer enterprise technologies such as .NET Core.

By outsourcing customized software development needs to India, the company can save 20 to 30 per cent on technology spending, according to Peerbits, a custom software development company.

"US companies should learn from it, increase productivity and automatically reduce costs, rather than relying on countries such as India and China," says Mr Murthy. I think this is the direction of the future. "

He also said that many American companies such as General Electric and Microsoft have set up R & D centers in India.

"there are other American and European companies about to enter the Indian market. I believe our opportunities in the next few years will be very great." Murthy said.
