According to reports, the staff will bring takeout to the take-off area of the drone on the top floor of the mall and load it into the lunch box of the recyclable drone made by Meituan. After ensuring that the products meet the flight conditions, another route manager will hang the dining box on the drone.

Under the command of the automatic dispatching system, the Meituan UAV flew independently along the prescribed route, landed in the intelligent airdrop cabinet of the Meituan UAV at the target location, put the dining box in the enterprising cupboard, and then flew back on its own.

Meituan's first regular commercial route in Shanghai is 2.2km long, starting from Shanghai Bailian Jinshan Shopping Mall and ending at Jinshan Federation of Industry and Commerce Building, equipped with three drones with an effective load of 2.3kg. Each UAV can fly at a maximum altitude of no more than 120m and a maximum speed of 20m / s. It can operate normally in the environment of light rain and wind below level 5, and can deliver food within 15 minutes.

At present, the route has settled in 15 businesses, including fast food, dinner, drinks, desserts and so on. As the line has just been opened, only some items in some stores are supported. When users order, they only need to choose drone delivery in the commodity interface, and choose the UAV airdrop cabinet in Jinshan Federation of Industry and Commerce Building at the receiving location, and the charge is the same as that of ordinary takeout orders.
