CTOnews.com April 27, the GNOME project team released GNOME 44.1 Desktop Environment today, the first maintenance update of the branch.

More than a month after the release of GNOME 44 "Kuala Lumpur", this maintenance update adds some titles to the Background Apps menu, unifies the name "Power Mode" in Quick Settings, improves the auxiliary function name of Wi-Fi, and fixes the visual problems of the Bluetooth menu.

This update also improved the light color theme, fixed a problem with the mouse pointer in window screenshots, improved support for transparent colors in symbol SVG files, fixed screenshots recorded in recent projects, fixed reloading of GNOME extensions when version verification changes, and improved keyboard navigation of menus.

GNOME 44.1 also improved the Nautilus file manager to adjust the style color in the view project, correctly flip the switch, display custom flags in the extension, and support extracting .tar.zst and .zstd compressed files.
