CTOnews.com, April 27 (Xinhua) Apple has been collecting data through iPhone and Apple Watch since 2019 to help scientists conduct three health studies.

Apple shares the progress of listening research conducted in collaboration with the University of Michigan to celebrate the International noise Awareness Day (Noise Awareness Day) on April 26.

After upgrading to watchOS 6, Apple Watch users can measure the noise in their surroundings and warn them of potential hearing loss through the Noise application.

According to the chart below with the latest data from CTOnews.com, 1/3 adults (about 77 million people) in the United States are exposed to excessive noise levels. The greater the population, the heaviest impact of high decibel noise, especially in California, Texas, Florida and New York.

According to Apple and the University of Michigan, people can take some measures to protect themselves from noise. These measures include wearing hearing protection devices such as earplugs in a noisy environment and taking a rest from noisy places as regularly as possible.
