According to reports, in addition to continuing to promote the development and evolution of liquid lithium-ion batteries, Honda will also develop and launch new generation batteries such as semi-solid and all-solid batteries. Honda plans to launch a demonstration line of all-solid-state batteries in 2024, which will be used in models launched in the second half of the 2020s.

In terms of battery planning, Honda plans to purchase the "Ultium" platform from General Motors in North America, while it will also form a production joint venture with LG Energy Solutions; in China, Honda will strengthen its cooperation with Ningde era; and in Japan, Honda will purchase batteries from Envision AESC for light commercial pure electric vehicles.

Honda has proposed brand-new enterprise reform measures for electrification, including the launch of "e:NS2" and "e:NP2" electric vehicles in the Chinese market in early 2024, and the mass production version of the concept car "eSUV preface", which was unveiled at the Shanghai auto show this month.

CTOnews.com learned from Honda officials that Honda plans to increase its global sales of pure electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles to 100% by 2040, and plans to increase annual production of pure electric vehicles to more than 2 million units by 2030.

In China, Honda plans to launch 10 pure electric cars by 2027. By 2035, it will be ahead of other regions to achieve 100% of pure electric vehicle sales.
