CTOnews.com Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized more than 1000 pairs of counterfeit AirPods Pro 2 headphones and 50 counterfeit Apple Watch watches at Washington Dulles International Airport in March, the agency announced yesterday.

The products were found in four shipments shipped from China to Fairfax County, Virginia. If the products are genuine, counterfeiters can make profits of more than $290,000 (CTOnews.com notes: currently about 2.01 million yuan) at Apple's suggested retail price. The counterfeit Apple products were confiscated on March 29, but no one has been charged.

Christine Wolf, CBP's acting director of ports in Washington, DC, said: "Unscrupulous manufacturers and sellers make illegal profits by selling inferior counterfeit products to the detriment of American consumers and safety. Customs and Border Protection urges consumers to purchase genuine goods from reputable or authorized vendors. "

During fiscal year 2022, CBP said it seized nearly 21,000 shipments of counterfeit goods that violated the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Program.
