On the evening of April 20 this year, China Telecom announced its latest results for the first quarter of 2023. According to the financial report, the revenue of China Telecom Q1 was 129.753 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4% over the same period last year, of which service revenue was 118.478 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7% over the same period last year. The net profit belonging to shareholders of listed companies was 7.984 billion yuan, an increase of 10.5% over the same period last year, while non-net profit was 8.69 billion yuan, an increase of 8.8% over the same period last year.

Among them, the real revenue growth of China Telecom comes from the rapid growth of industrial digitization. At present, due to the support of the digital economy and the vigorous layout of cloud services by operators, the share of operators in the industrial digital market is constantly expanding.

Especially in the cloud business, Tianyi Cloud is the most advantageous one of the three major operators in terms of products, channels and existing market share. In 2022, Tianyi Cloud's revenue reached 57.9 billion yuan, an increase of 107.5% over the same period last year. Ke Ruiwen, chairman of China Telecom, said at the performance presentation that Tianyi Cloud's target revenue will reach hundreds of billions in 2023.

Judging from the first-quarter results, the revenue of digital business in China's telecom industry reached 34.971 billion yuan, an increase of 18.9% over the same period last year, which is also far faster than the growth rate of the main business.
