On April 26, Ant chain, a subsidiary of Ant Group, announced that it would formally open up its high security heterogeneous cross-chain protocol AntChain Bridge to global developers, in order to promote technology inclusion and universal chain interconnection. The agreement is based on the just published IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) cross-chain standard, which is the world's first cross-chain general international standard. After open source, developers can use the cross-chain code of the ant chain to jointly build an Web3 open ecology.

At the meeting site, ant chain, cloud block chain, tree map chain and domestic university block chain DYNO, four institutions jointly demonstrated the cross-chain transfer of digital assets on different chains, and realized the real cross-chain interconnection of multiple heterogeneous chains.

Cross-chain is the technical basis of ecological prosperity of block chain. There is no cross-chain, each chain is an independent island, after cross-chain, it can become an interconnected and open ecosystem, there will be endless prosperity and possibility, but the key of block chain from "local area network" to "Internet" is that different block chain systems need to "communicate with each other".

In the early days of the industry, due to the advance of technology and the lag of standards, different block chain systems have different technical routes in communication protocols, identity management and so on. With the increasingly complex business forms and rich application scenarios of blockchain, the need for interconnection between different chains is becoming more and more urgent. Cross-chain technology can realize the secure and reliable interaction of information between different block chain systems, realize data exchange and value flow, and break through the boundary of "language".

Ant chain is one of the earliest technology companies engaged in cross-chain technology research and development in China. It has been put into research and development since 2018 and has more than 60 technology patents in related fields. In 2019, Ant chain released cross-chain product ODATS, and implemented landing applications in key areas such as government affairs, finance, logistics and so on.

At the same time, the ant chain also promoted the establishment of the world's first cross-chain standard, which was established in May 2020. It was jointly compiled by Ant Group, China Institute of Electronic Technology Standardization, Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Grid Electric Power, Baidu and other 20 enterprises and more than 50 staff members for three years.

According to reports, AntChain Bridge has the characteristics of global versatility, high security and minimal adaptation. Developers can visit the Ant chain openlab zone on github to download cross-chain plug-ins to obtain cross-chain system contracts and cross-chain business contracts to experience the flow of digital assets between different chains.

Jiang Guofei, senior vice president of Ant Group and president of the digital technology enterprise group, said that based on the cross-chain agreement based on global standards, the block chain will move towards interconnection of ten thousand chains, realize the free flow of value like information, and accelerate towards the future of industrial web3.

On the same day, the new generation of Web3 Open Alliance chain was unveiled, covering the technical capabilities of Web3's four-tier architecture, including basic network, ecological services, application scenarios, and user access, and compatible with ecological protocols such as Ethernet Fang, further extending Web3 ecology.
