The brand-new two-stage "star emblem taillight" is perfectly integrated into the four trigeminal star emblems, which is highly recognizable. The left and right taillights are connected by a trim panel, extending the visual width of the rear of the car. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new Mercedes-Benz E-class standard wheelbase version are 49491880ax 1468mm and the wheelbase is 2961 mm, an increase of 22 mm compared with the previous generation model.

The intelligent configuration of the new E-Class car has been comprehensively improved, taking the lead in carrying the third generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, with three-screen central console layout, as the predecessor of Mercedes-Benz's own software system MB.OS operating system, the third-generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system is built based on new software-driven electronic architecture, newly upgraded CPU and 5G communication module. The newly developed electronic architecture replaces the previous independent operation control function with a new CPU, which makes the data calculation and transmission faster and more stable.

CTOnews.com learned from Mercedes-Benz officials that the third-generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system uses the newly developed compatibility layer, carries more third-party in-car applications, and achieves richer content ecology, such as brushing Douyin, playing games, or using in-car cameras to enter video conferencing, to further expand the use scene in the car. At the same time, the new E-Class car supports digital car keys, and car owners can turn the vehicle on or off using only their smartphones.

The new E-Class car provides a four-cylinder turbocharged engine with ISG intelligent motor system and a hybrid drive unit, realizing the full electrification of the power system. The modular four-cylinder engine has a maximum output power of 150kW, and its ISG intelligent motor system can provide the engine with an additional output power of 17kW and a maximum torque of 205Nm.

The plug-in hybrid model is equipped with the fourth-generation plug-in hybrid technology with a battery capacity of 25.4kWh and a pure electric mileage of more than 100km under WLTP conditions. The battery can be recharged from 0% to 100% in about 30 minutes with 55 kilowatt DC fast charging. The new E-Class car can also be equipped with an air suspension (AIRMATIC) system with adaptive continuously adjustable damping system enhanced (ADS+) and a rear wheel active steering system to strike a balance between driving comfort and agile control.
