According to the news posted by Naspers and Prosus on their website, Prosus reduced its stake in Tencent in order to continue its share buyback. Prosus has bought 566392 shares of Naspers from April 17 to 21.

However, judging from the disclosure, the sale of 789600 shares on Tuesday is not the first time that Prosus has reduced its stake in Tencent this year, but for the first time this year, and they also said on their website that they need to disclose relevant information when Prosus's stake in Tencent changes by more than one integer percentage point.

According to Tencent's 2022 annual report, as of December 31 last year, Naspers held 2577168400 Tencent shares, or 26.93 per cent, through MIH Internet Holdings B.V, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prosus.
