Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, April 26, according to EE Time, TSMC is "doing its utmost" to increase 3nm process capacity to meet Apple's large order demand. Analysts believe that TSMC currently has problems in mass production process and production, resulting in delays in delivery.

EE Times interviewed Arete Research analyst Brett Simpson. Simpson believes that the Apple A17 Bionic chip (suitable for the iPhone 15 Pro model) and the M3 series Apple Silicon chip produced by TSMC are still in the development stage, with a yield of only 55%.

Part of the interview with Simpson translated by CTOnews.com is as follows: "TSMC is expected to improve the 3nm yield according to the plan and is expected to increase by 5 percentage points per quarter."

Wei Zhijia, CEO of TSMC, said that although the company had achieved "mass production and good yield", customer demand exceeded its supply capacity. In the second half of this year, TSMC will increase production of A17 and M3 chips for Apple, as well as chips for Intel, AMD and Nvidia.
