According to CTOnews.com news on April 25, the Chinese Customs announced the status of intellectual property protection in 2022, adopted a total of 64,600 intellectual property protection measures, and actually detained 60900 batches of suspected import and export goods suspected of infringement. In the whole year, 23412 applications for customs protection of intellectual property rights were accepted, and 21356 applications were examined and approved, of which 15091 were filed by domestic right holders.

The types of intellectual property rights of infringing goods seized by the Customs include trademark rights, patent rights, copyright rights, exclusive rights of Olympic symbols, etc., of which 76.3231 million goods suspected of infringing trademark rights are detained, accounting for 97.93% of the total number of goods detained; 10684 batches of children's toys, souvenirs, key chains, sports shoes and other goods suspected of infringing upon the exclusive rights of Olympic symbols are detained.

The top 10 customs detaining suspected infringing goods are Shenzhen, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Huangpu and Tianjin. Chengdu Customs detained 2.5476 million suspected infringing goods, ranking among the top 10 in the country for the first time.

Customs detained 21000 batches and 4.023 million pieces of suspected infringing goods in cross-border e-commerce channels, and the proportion of detained batches and quantities in law enforcement in non-freight channels increased by 35.73% and 50.39% respectively compared with the same period last year.

The suspected infringing goods seized by the Customs are mainly electronic and electrical appliances, stationery offices, children's toys and tobacco products, including 15.9462 million pieces of electronic appliances such as inductors, capacitors and integrated circuits, 13.3472 million pieces of stationery such as pencils and ballpoint pens, 12.4339 million pieces of children's toys such as games and cards, and 11.8975 million pieces of tobacco products such as cigarettes and cigarette paper.
